Valor Quest:
Our Goals

The Guild:
A battle.net guild is a group of people who share similar interests and playing styles and have grouped together to form an organization that allows them to create a playing environment that all members can enjoy. Our main purpose in The Honor Guild is to give our members the chance to enjoy playing Warcraft in a friendly and organized manor.
  • We run tournaments for member's to pit their skills against each other.
  • We provide a channel and message board for members to easily find and communicate with each other.
  • We recognize excellence through rank and awards.
  • We provide information, playing times, statistics on our members for others to find opponents of equal discipline.
  • We provide news and archives on Warcraft 2 and other blizzard products.
  • And that's just the beginning!!
If you wish to become a member you must agree with our basic rules and values. These rules are in place to keep all our members happy and to prevent harassment and discord. Failure to comply with our rules can result in removal from the guild. Also refer to our channel rules.
  • Our most basic rule is respect; always treat others, whether they are members or not, with respect. Another member is a part of your community and must be treated courteously. Non-members will judge our guild through your conduct and this makes you a representative of our values. Treat others with the same respect that you demand for yourself. This covers everything from profanity and prejudice, to intentionally dropping out of games or spamming. Disrespect is grounds for removal from the guild but any case is subject to vote by the Inner Chamber.
  • Though constant presence is not a requirement, members who are not heard from for a long period of time will be listed on the inactive list.
  • Game Conduct - This area falls under respect but a few specific details require a more in depth explanation.
      • Do not harass people to play a game with you, everyone has the right to refuse but it is common practice to state a reason for refusal.
      • Do not gloat about a victory. Everyone knows who wins a match so do not point it out to others. If someone asks then by all means inform them. However, maintain a professional conduct at all times; ESPECIALLY during tournaments. It is also courtesy to wish an opponent "good game" after a match.
      • No Spamming a game! Do not use excessive messaging in a game. Also try to keep messages limited to your allies in a team game. In tournament games it is expected that only game related messages are sent. Always try to acknowledge messages directed to you though it is known that during battles this rule doesn't always apply.
      • NEVER switch allies during a team game unless all people playing agree. This is grounds for removal from the guild. Switching allies during a tournament game is forbidden under any circumstances.
      • Do not mislead others. If you agree to play a game with no rushing, or no air attacks, etc., comply to the predefined rules. Tricking someone in order to win is grounds for removal from the guild.
      • If you must urgently leave a game before it is finished inform others of this fact, do not just "drop" the game.
  • No harassment of any type. This cannot be expressed strongly enough. Any member who feels they are being harassed by another has the right to file a complaint with the Inner Chamber. If found guilty of any form of harassment a member will be removed from the guild.
  • Absolutely no advertising or promoting of any type using any guild resources: channels, games, meetings, tournaments, message boards, etc. No advertising or promotions to guild members through e-mail, icq, or any other form of public communication information given out by the guild. There is zero tolerance with respect to this rule.
  • Try to attend any scheduled meetings or leave a "with regrets" message on the message board, stating your reason for missing the meeting.

This concludes the formal definition of our rules and is no way all encompassing or non-subject to change.  Changes or new rules may be made by the Inner Chamber at any time.  The context of events is always taken into account, and the principle remains unchanged.  We are guild of people dedicated to fair, honest play governed by respect.  If you do not feel our guild is for you, thank you for your time.  If you still wish to become a member, continue with the steps of joining.
